Alan J. Abt

It is with great sadness that the family of Alan Jay Abt, age 54, announce his passing on September 22, 2024. Alan was born on January 22, 1970, to Edward and June Abt in Orange, California. He worked in construction with his brothers and as an HVAC solution architect for Halverson Air Conditioning and Heating Company in La Crosse. Later he worked for a lumber company in West Salem. He was an avid electronics hobbyist and loved music of all kinds.

Alan is survived by his daughter Paige Abt, granddaughter Tilia Slemer and mother June Abt, of Viroqua, and ex-wife Robin of Indiana. He is survived by his five brothers and six sisters: David (Debra) Abt of Viroqua; Faith (Steve) Voehl of Idaho; Susan (Frank) Scharlach of California; Mary Young of California; Steven (Sheryl) Abt of Viroqua; Patrick (Marina) Abt of Viroqua; Nancy (Bryan) Sheets of California; Bruce (Kathy) Abt of Mosinee, Wisconsin; Barry (Brittain) Abt of New Mexico; Lisa (Brian) Guillot of Viroqua; Tammy (Chris) Kent of Minnesota; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Alan was preceded in death by his father Edward Abt, brother-in law Kenneth Young, and nephew Christopher Arritt.

The family would like to express their appreciation to those in the community for their support during this difficult time.
