Alan Warren Wallace of Richland Center, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday December 24th, 2020 at the age of 66 at his home while surrounded by family after his short battle with cancer. He was born on November 7th, 1954 to Berlie and Virginia (Gudgeon) Wallace. Alan attended the West Lima school and Kickapoo High school in Viola, WI. Alan was married to Mary Ann Muller on August 4th, 1973 at the West Lima United Methodist church in West Lima, WI. Alan and Mary Ann had four children together and years later divorced in 1992.
Alan had a love for the great outdoors. He enjoyed deer hunting, morel mushroom hunting and coon hunting and had many beloved hunting dogs over the years. He would often be heard talking like “Donald Duck" to make the children around laugh and giggle. He had a rich, deep bass singing voice and you could often hear him sharing that gift as he went about his day. Alan was a hired farm hand for many area farmers throughout his life and in the early 80’s his family moved to the "home farm” in Cherry Valley, south of West Lima, to run the farm with his father Berlie. In 1992 he left the farm and worked in Viola making cement lawn sculptures. Later in life, Alan was a caregiver for his mother Virginia at her home in West Lima until she needed other nursing care.
Alan is survived by his partner of 15 years, Linda Johnson of Richland Center; his six children: Robin (Wayne) Clark of rural Viroqua, Misty (Nathan) Hanson of Viroqua, Alan (Julie) Wallace of Coon Valley, Virginia (John) NeCollins of Viroqua, Corey Wallace and Cole Wallace; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and two sisters: Gerry (Marvin) Felton of Richland Center and Donna Gillingham (Neal Mahoney) of Richland Center; two brothers, Darwin (Gail) Wallace of rural West Lima and Duane (Susie) Wallace of West Lima; one uncle, Lester “Bud” Gudgeon of Richland Center; many other special nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Berlie and Virginia Wallace.
