Allen Skrede Obituary

Stanley Allen Skrede, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 11th, 2021, at his home in Viroqua, WI.

Allen Skrede was born in Viroqua, WI, to Stanley and Iona Skrede on January 3rd, 1942. Allen married Mary (Gray) Skrede on August 14th, 1965, in Bloomington, MN.

Allen grew up dairy farming west of Viroqua on Nottingham Ridge. God called him to full time ministry as he pioneered Believers Fellowship Church, Inc. in 1981. His hobbies included, fastpitch softball, bowling, fishing, golfing, horseback riding, reading, and studying biblical topics. Allen, along with his sister and brother, built Skrede Park with a gazebo on their property next to the Bad Axe River in Sidie Hollow. Many family picnics with swimming, games of horseshoes, and wiffle ball were enjoyed there. He loved to play baseball/catch with his sons, as well as, playing many games of basketball with them. Allen regularly watched the Brewers, Packers, Badgers, and Bucks. He especially enjoyed playing and laughing with grandkids and great grandkids. His favorite foods were beef tips, lefse, grilled brats/steaks, KFC buckets of chicken enjoyed at Myrick Park, and many post-church service fellowship meals at Hardees, Country Kitchen, and Culvers. Throughout their life Allen and Mary regularly had Friday Fish date night at Old Towne Inn. Most recently he enjoyed the biscuits and gravy at Hungry Peddler. Above all, times spent with family and loved ones was most special to him.

Allen Skrede is survived by his wife Mary; three sons: Craig (Keeley) Skrede, Trever (Wendy) Skrede, and Paul (Tricia) Skrede; sister Alice Fauske; brother Steven (Lana) Skrede; ten grandchildren: McKenzie (Logan) Borst, Jordyn (Steve) Vesbach, Moriah Skrede, Brett (Taylor) Skrede, Mason Skrede, Mikkala Skrede, Whitney Skrede, Hannah Skrede, Brandon Skrede, Jamen Skrede; 3 great grandchildren: Colsen Vesbach, Kamdyn Vesbach, and Keaston Vesbach.

Allen Skrede was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Iona (Christensen) Skrede, and one brother-in-law Myron “Mike” Fauske.

Service Details: Monday, August 16th, 2021 at Believers Fellowship Church, 804 S. Main St. Viroqua, WI; Visitation will begin at 11:00 am with memorial service to follow at 1:00 pm. The memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Mark Clements from Living Word Christian Church, LaCrosse, WI and the graveside service at Bad Axe Cemetery will be officiated by Pastor Paul Shirek from Faith Christian Church, Mauston, WI.
