Charles Mauldin was born September 18, 1962, in Maywood, Illinois, to Charles William and Pauline Mauldin. The family later moved to Glen Ellyn, Illinois, where he spent his childhood playing Little League baseball. As a teenager, Chuck played basketball and excelled in track and field in the long and triple jump at Glenbard South High School, graduating in 1980.
Chuck continued his education at the College of DuPage, studying Criminal Justice. He began his professional journey as a dispatcher for fire, police, and emergency medical services at DuPage Public Safety Communications (DU-COMM). During this time, he pursued rigorous martial arts training, ultimately earning a black belt in Ninjitsu, a testament to his discipline and dedication.
In 1988, Chuck completed his Executive Protection Specialist (CPS) certification at Executive Security International (ESI) in Aspen, Colorado, launching what would become a distinguished career of more than 30 years in the executive protection industry. His work took him across the country and around the world, providing protective services for chief executives of Fortune 100 companies and other high-profile individuals and families. His experience led him to corporate offices in Seattle, San Diego, Bentonville, San Jose, and Greenville, with responsibilities that took him to more than 65 countries. Chuck’s expertise was widely respected. He served as a consultant, trainer, and member of various professional organizations and was recognized as a subject matter expert in executive protection and security, sharing his knowledge through television, radio, and other channels.
Throughout his career, Chuck remained committed to professional excellence and the advancement of his field. He will be remembered as a leader, teacher, mentor, coach, friend, and brother. He will also be remembered for his integrity, calm demeanor, professionalism, and vast network of colleagues established along his journey. Chuck had a good sense of humor with no shortage of stories to share. He had a deep appreciation for history and smooth jazz music, enjoyed playing golf, and was an avid watch enthusiast. He also was a soccer fan and a loyal follower of the Chicago Cubs and Bears.
Prior to moving to Wisconsin, Chuck was an active member of a Greenville baptist church where he joyfully served as a Sunday service greeter, provided security support for the congregation, and conducted risk assessments for members preparing to travel abroad for missionary work.
Andre, 63, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, following a prolonged period of medical challenges after a health event earlier in the year.
