Clarence “Bub” E. Stout Jr, age 71, of rural Ontario, WI passed away peacefully August 14, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born July 5, 1952, in Viroqua, WI to Clarence S. and Frances A. (Hatfield) Stout. He grew up in Brush Creek and attended Elmview School rural Cashton until the 3rd grade and then attended Cashton School and was a graduate of the class of 1970. After graduation he went on to work various jobs, including factories and cement work. He retired after 28 years as custodian at LaFarge Area Schools. Once retired he continued to be the caretaker of his father until he passed away December 25, 2022.
Bub’s most rewarding job was when he became a father on March 21, 1985, to Tylghler. He treasured sharing his love of the outdoors with Tyghler, whether it was hunting, fishing, camping, or shooting trap. Bub enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping his entire life. He had several canine companions who shared the enjoyment of rabbit and squirrel hunting with him. He loved gardening, and canning and freezing what he grew. He also enjoyed making wine, beet wine was the most recent kind he made.
He loved his family. He was always there to help when needed. Offering words of wisdom and support during challenging times.
He is survived by his sisters, Vivanna (Jerald) Widner and Kathleen (Jeff) Steinhoff; nieces and nephews: Amanda (Ronnie) Hoff, Travis (Shawn) Fish, Angie (Ryan) Piepenhagen, Joseph (Heather) Steinhoff, Jason (Jamie) Steinhoff, Jessica (Jordan) Duffy, Jayme (Alex) Bahl; step nephew and niece Tony (Nicolle) Widner and Rene Fortun; 31 great nieces and nephews; 10 great-great nieces and nephews; Aunt Veda Hatfield and numerous cousins and friends.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A special thanks to Bub’s lifelong friends Harold, Harland, Rodney, and families for their support during his journey and Pastor Bruce Milleman, St. Croix Hospice, Gundersen Health, and LaFarge Medical Clinic for the exceptional care and support provided to Bub and our family during this difficult time.
