Daniel W. Zitzner

Daniel Wyatt Zitzner, 46, of De Soto died on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

He was born on August 13, 1976, to Dennis and Cheryl (Burns) Zitzner.  Daniel was an avid outdoorsman. He liked spending time foraging for morels, ginseng hunting, trapping, coon hunting, and deer hunting.  His black lab, Chewy, was very special to him.  Daniel enjoyed helping with the family business - Scenic View Cabins, doing carpentry work, and landscaping.

Daniel is survived by his father, Dennis Zitzner; sisters, Angela Zitzner Karwoski and Lacey Zitzner; nephews, Isaiah Zitzner and Romeo Barnes; nieces: Nola Karwoski, Aida Karwoski, and Bella Barnes; aunts:  Ruthie Lepke, Miny Hirschfield (Jack Kappler), Ike Zitzner, Diane (Jerry) DeLap; many great cousins, and his black lab, Chewy.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cheryl Zitzner; grandparents: Gaylord and Mildred Zitzner, Burl Burns, Martha Burns, and Arnold Lewison; uncles: Bob Hirschfield, Danny Lepke, Tommy Burns, and Conrad Zitzner.   

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to P.O. Box 233, De Soto, WI 54624.

The family will be having a Prayer Service on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Gassers Bar & Grill with Pastor Drew officiating.  A luncheon will follow.

The Roth Family Cremation Center and Funeral Services is assisting the family.
