David LeRoy Edgar

David LeRoy Edgar, 85, of Readstown, WI, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

He was born June 14, 1940, in Richland Center, WI to Harold and Edna (Buroker) Edgar.  He married Wava Gander on August 4, 1962.

David worked at General Motors in Janesville for 13 years.  He started farming in Readstown in 1971.  After retiring and moving to town, he worked for Sime Funeral Home.  David was a real asset to the community.  He dedicated years serving as the Village President of Readstown and also served as the President of the Soldiers Grove Cheese Factory. 

David’s joy was combining and deer hunting - taking many kids with him.  He enjoyed his kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and the many kids his wife, Wava, babysat.

He is survived by his wife, Wava; one son, Roger Edgar of Omaha, NB; one daughter, Karen (Roger) Olson of Soldiers Grove, WI; three grandkids: Jenna (Wyatt) Copus, Nicole (John) Huber, and Jadon (Josie Wiltrout) Olson; three great grandkids: Sawyer Copus, Ava Olson, and Grayson Huber; one brother, Marvin Edgar, Viola, WI; one sister, Mary Holcomb of Superior, WI;  and one sister-in-law, Gloria Edgar of Readstown, WI.

David was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jim and Lester; and four nephews: Mike Edgar, Terry Edgar, Steve Edgar, and John Edgar.  

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Back Roads Church (formerly North Clayton Methodist Church) at 11:30 AM with Pastor Eddie officiating.  A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of service.
