David Rodgers Obituary
Dave "Papa Smurf" Rodgers, age 68, of Ferryville, WI passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Mayo hospital in Rochester, MN. He was born February 6,1953 in Oelwein, IA to Leland and Marion Rodgers. Dave served in the US Navy for 20 years. He met and married his beautiful wife, Louise, on March 16, 1974, in Hawaii. He enjoyed going to the beach with family and friends. Deep sea diving and motorcycle riding were his passions. When he retired in 1990, he and his family moved to Wisconsin. He loved all his dogs Ehu, Kapu, Mooker, Shadow, and Bear. He also loved his many aquariums.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Louise; his children: Ka'oko (Bobbi) Rodgers, Huliamahi (Kevin) Hagmoc, NaniAnuenue (Kasey) Boardman, and Kaimana (Michelle) Rodgers; nine grandchildren: Nikita, Kali, La'ieikawai, Kekoa, Keagan, Kanoa, Nalani, Kaleanohealani, and Keilana; 2 half-sisters, Judy Lewis and Karen Oakes Taylor; and 2 half-brothers.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; his very special mother-in-law, July, and father-in-law, Lono; brothers-in-law, Roger and Daniel; his very special sister-in-law, Ursula; and one grandson, Kasey Jr.
