Edward Crick Obituary

Edward Dale Crick, age 72, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse.

He was born in Indiana, on October 28, 1952, to Kenneth and Marjorie Crick. He was married to Laurie Jean Sidney on October 20, 1973; before divorcing, they had three children: Joshua, Amy and Rebecca.

Ed was a hard worker and was employed as a truck driver and mechanic most of his life. Ed enjoyed collecting bulldozers and antique tractors. He was the original “Cricks-it;” many people were inspired by his creative mind and his ability to fix anything mechanical. He was always up for an adventure whether that be an auction, swap meet, tractor show or road trip to haul a new treasure home.

Ed’s life was full of tough circumstances, but he always remained positive and did his best to take care of his kids no matter how difficult the situation. He was proud of his family and cherished the time he spent with them.

Above all, he had a love for the Lord. As an elder at the Viroqua Church of Christ, he knew the urgency and importance of having a relationship with Jesus. His faith was the cornerstone of his life; his strong and unwavering faith was an example to his family and friends and lead many people to know Christ as their Savior.

Ed is survived by is mother, Marjorie (Hendry) Crick of Viroqua, WI; his sister, Paula (Danny) White of Viola, WI; brothers: Daniel (Suzanne) Crick of Menno, SD and Philip (Nicholine) Crick of Gilman, WI; his three children: Joshua (Melinda) Crick of Viroqua, WI, Amy (Travis) Headrick of Melvina, WI and Rebecca Winchel of Cataract, WI; his 16 grandchildren: Cory (Mitchell) Colburn, Jessica (Joseph) Whitten, Alexander (fiance April) Crick, Cody (Morgan) Shivler, Michael Winchel, Britney Headrick, Sarah Winchel, Hannah (Deacan) Carpenter, Eli Crick, Sondra Winchel, Caleb Crick, Malachi Crick, Levi Crick, Lydia Crick and Elam Crick; and five great-grandchildren: Landen and Mathew Colburn, Briella and Aviana Whitten, and Calvin Shivler.

Ed was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Crick; two siblings, Timothy and Rachel Crick; and grandson, Jacob Winchel.

Family will be holding services on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 12 noon with a visitation from 9 a.m. until time of service at the Viroqua Church of Christ, 825 Nelson Parkway, Viroqua, WI. A lunch reception will follow the service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
