Floyd Piepenhagen, 87, of Cashton, WI, passed away on October 12, 2023, at Vernon Manor. He was born on June 11, 1936, in La Crosse, WI, to Ferdinand and Inga (Wangen) Piepenhagen.
Floyd was raised on the family farm near Seneca and had a strong connection to the land. He spent his 20’s and 30’s working at Metallics in Onalaska and later in road construction, but his true passion was farming. For the past 54 years, Floyd and Margie dedicated themselves to farming in Newry and raising their family there. Floyd was an avid John Deere fan and took great delight in his collection of tractors, often playing with them on the floor with his great-grandchildren. However, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his great-grandchildren, who always brought a smile to his face. Floyd's skill as a corn shucker was well-known, particularly at the church corn boil. His absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
Floyd is survived by his beloved wife Margie of 61 years; daughters Marcy Jones and Shannon Harvey; granddaughters: Elizabeth Jones, Alexandra Harvey, Katherine (Alex) Odegard, Emma Harvey, and Leah Harvey; great-grandchildren: Evelyn Socia, Samuel Odegard, and Cooper Odegard; sister Fern Traister; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Bud, Ray, and Jack; and sisters: Lucille, Lorraine, Doris, Glendora, and Joyce.
Floyd was a member of the North Coon Prairie Lutheran Church, where he found strength and solace in his faith. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at North Coon Prairie Lutheran Church with Pastor Patrick Ziems officiating. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Cashton First Responders would be greatly appreciated.
The Roth Family Cremation Center and Funeral Services is serving the family.
