Francis “Frank” Edward Cleven, 85, passed away on April 14th, 2024, on the family farm near Rising Sun in the Utica township.
He was born on April 11th, 1939, to John and Josephine Cleven. He married Kathleen Kochheiser on July 24th, 1965, at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church – Ankeny, Iowa.
Frank was well known and has positively touched the community throughout the years. Anyone that knew him probably got razzed or was at the receiving end of a joke (at your expense!). He loved to tell stories about days gone by and always looked forward to spending time with family and friends. His multitude of “projects” always kept him busy as he loved to spend time outside around the farm or in his garage tinkering. Frank loved his dogs which were with him wherever he went. The farm was his happy place, and he had no desire to live anywhere else.
Frank enjoyed his dogs, cats (all animals), fishing, steam engine/antique tractor shows, steam locomotives, farming/gardening, wood-working and last but not least - his family.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; children: Brian (Ankeny, IA), Brenda (Marshall, WI), Carolyn (Downsville, WI), and Emily (Muscoda, WI); and his dog Mickey.
He was preceded in death by his son Steve; his parents; and ten siblings.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Crawford County Police Department and the Gays Mills EMS.
His family will be hosting A Celebration of Life for family and friends at the Viroqua VFW, 751 South Washington Avenue, Viroqua, Wisconsin 54665 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27th, 2024. Potluck event, bring a dish to share if you choose. Everyone who knew Frank is encouraged to attend.
The Roth Family Cremation Center and Funeral Services is assisting the family.
