Gary Alan Harbaugh, 82, of Coon Valley passed away at his home on Friday, June 26, 2026.
He was born October 26, 1943, to Lloyd and Genevieve Harbaugh. He married Janice W. Horstman on May 30, 1970, in Guttenberg, IA.
Gary was a dairy farmer for over 50 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He enjoyed going to dairy auctions and sold seed corn for Asgrow in the 1970s. He loved playing cards with his friends and wife and had a deep love for horses, International tractors, and Holsteins. Gary was the last surviving of nine children.
He is survived by his wife Janice; 3 sons: Joseph, Lynn (Sara), and John (Jeri); 5 grandchildren: Ty, Jacob, Harlee, Logan, and Madison; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Arlene Harbaugh; and his godchildren JoLynn Moore and Bradley Harbaugh.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Genevieve; 8 siblings: Eleanor (Robert) Levin, Lloyd Jr (Ivanelle), George (Lois), Coletta Neiland (Lavern), Shirley Mae Berns (Kenny), Carrol (Arlene), Jackie Scherf, Richard Gene (Sharon); and other friends and family.
Family would like to extend a special thank you to Roth Family Cremation Center and Funeral Services, Seland Funeral Home, Vernon County Coroner, Coon Valley EMS, Vernon County Sheriff’s Department, and Gundersen Paramedics.

A Celebration of Life will be held by family on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Venue in the Valley (500 Old Mill Road, Coon Valley, WI) from 11 AM – 2 PM.
