Gary Archie Nelson

Gary Archie Nelson, 75, of Soldiers Grove, WI passed away Thursday, September 24, 2026.  He was born August 13, 1951, to Archie Jr. and Betty Nelson.

Gary was passionate about hunting, fishing, and camping with family and friends.  He dedicated 20 years to farming, followed by 25 years as a real estate agent. He also drove a school bus for over 10 years before retiring and then driving a semi-truck for his good friend Tom Zitzner.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Deanna (Buroker) Nelson; sons Andy (Audra) Nelson, Jesse Nelson, and Garrett Nelson (Jessica Strolle); grandchildren Nichelle (Jake), Camryn, Aryanna, Xander, Kayla, and Demario; great-grandchildren Hadley and Gage; sisters Janelle (Rodney) Olson, Francee Ostrem, Lori (Dan) Meske, Mary Larson; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Archie Jr. and Betty Nelson; sister Susan Schye; nephew Brandon Larson; and his parents-in-law Myron and Tolene Buroker.

Family will be holding a Celebration of Life Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Desperados in Soldiers Grove, WI, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a graveside memorial for family at Forest Hills Cemetery in Soldiers Grove at 3:30 PM.

Flowers and memorials can be sent to Roth Family Cremation Center and Funeral Services in Viroqua, WI. Memorial donations may be made to the North Crawford Rescue Squad in Gary’s name.
