Geary A. Aspenson

Geary Allen Aspenson, age 86, passed away peacefully on April 20th , 2026, at Vernon Manor in Viroqua, WI.  

He was born on October 23rd, 1939, to Emerth and Judith (Lewis) Aspenson.

He married Clarice Shaner on November 17th ,1979, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua.

Geary enjoyed working with horses, hunting, fishing, camping, wood working, playing card games and dominos (and occasionally cheating), Green Bay Packers, and old westerns.

He lit up every time his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were around.  He loved spending time with them and teasing them. 

Geary was a long-time member of the Church of Christ.  He served as an Elder at one point at the Viroqua Church of Christ and a Deacon at the Christian Church in Alamogordo, NM.  He loved Jesus and his church family. 

Geary and Clarice moved back to Viroqua after enjoying their time snow birding and living in New Mexico.  Geary really enjoyed his time in there and made many friends and had many adventures there. 

Geary is survived by his wife Clarice; sons, Monte (Kathy) Aspenson and Todd (Cathy) Aspenson; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by a daughter, great-granddaughter, his parents, and 6 siblings,

We would like to thank the staff at Vernon Memorial Hospital, Vernon Manor, St Croix Hospice, and Roth Family Cremation Center and Funeral Services for their excellent care.

Family will be holding services on Monday, April 27th, 2026.  There will be a visitation from 9:00-11:00 am with a service at 11:00 am at the Viroqua Church of Christ.
