James “Jimmy” Paul Kansier
March 6, 1963 – June 28, 2025 • Viroqua, Wisconsin
James “Jimmy” Paul Kansier, 62, passed away on June 28, 2025.
A lifelong outdoorsman, Jimmy loved long walks, fishing, and crafting custom lures with his friend Jeff. He collected interesting rocks, and had owned and loved fast cars.
Jimmy worked in local tobacco fields and excelled in tobacco-stripping contests, later holding positions at Viroqua Leaf, Northern Engraving, a factory in Sparta, and caring for others as a C.N.A. He had a strong work ethic and a great sense of humor.
Jimmy is survived by his sisters Kim and Kristi; brother Mike; half-brother Jamie; close friend Kaila Raymond; and a large, loving circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Henry Kansier and Donna Jean (Johnson) Kansier,
Honor Jimmy’s memory with a quiet walk, a cast into your favorite fishing hole, or the roar of a car engine.
Family will be holding a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Readstown Advancement Building from 2-4 p.m.
