Jan M. Steenberg

Jan Marie Steenberg, 57 years old, of Westby, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2023, at her home. She was surrounded by her son, Dylan and her beloved pets, Mojo, Zeus, and Tiger.

Jan graduated from Westby High School, attended WWTI to become a Certified Nurse Assistant, and has lived and worked in the Westby area all of her life, residing in the home she grew up in on Melby Street.

 Jan is survived by her son, Dylan James Steenberg; beloved pets; brother, Kevin Steenberg of Westby; sister, Julie (Steenberg) Koch of Wayzata, MN; nephew, Mitchell Koch; and niece, Natalie (Koch) Wahlers. Jan has many dear friends who have been instrumental and helpful during her illness and hospice.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Elaine (Blihovde) Steenberg and father, Howard Raymond Steenberg.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Jan’s dear friends for their unconditional love and support and to all the doctors, nurses and care givers at Viroqua Memorial Hospital, Gunderson Lutheran Hospital, the University of WI-Madison Hospital, the University of WI-Madison Palliative Care Team, and St. Croix Hospice Services, as well as to Pastor Alyssa of Westby Coon Prairie Lutheran Church.

A small visitation and gathering for family and close friends will be held at Roth Family Cremation Center, S3611 Duncan Lane, Viroqua, WI on Friday, March 3, from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.  A prayer service will take place at 3:30 p.m.  with Pastor Alyssa officiating.

The Roth Family Cremation Center and Funeral Services are serving the family.
