Jerry Dean Ferguson “Fergie,” age 83, passed away peacefully with family by his side on August 23, 2024, in Viola, WI.
Jerry was born in Richland Center, WI to Wilbert and Veda Ferguson on Christmas Eve in 1940.
Jerry worked and retired as an engineering inspector for the Engineering Department in the City of Madison, making many lifetime friends along the way.
Jerry never missed out on a good time or a chance to play poker or euchre. He was a quick wit, always with a joke and a story to share. He was also known as a questionable historian.
He is survived by his beautiful wife of 60 years, Natalie Ferguson, and had four daughters: Kelley (Waylon) Kannenberg, Kenda (Eric) Nelson, Karisa Ferguson, and Kami (Julius Patton) Ferguson.
He also shared his love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren--NINE boys, who lovingly grew up calling him Papa or G-pa; Kolton (Lizzie) Urso, Kalahan (fiancé Harley Benson) Urso, Kyler O’Neil, Kashden Nelson, Kaleb Ferguson Pierce (Kaitlyn Means) and Kolebe Ferguson; great-grandchildren, Kai Ferguson, Otto Urso, and Charlie Urso. He was a loving grandfather who enjoyed fishing up north or on the Mississippi river with them every summer.
In addition, he is survived by his sister Janey Barberino; nephews, Michael (Diane) Barberino and Mark (Becki) Barberino; brother and sister-in-law Ron and Barb Johnson; niece Ashlie (Scott) Johnson; and nephew Ryan Johnson, who affectionately called him Unca Unca Unca Jerry.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Veda Ferguson, and a brother, Frederick Ferguson.
A private family celebration will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank his daughter, Karisa and grandson, Kolebe for their compassionate care of our father along with St. Croix Hospice Care.
Roth Family Cremation Center and Funeral Services is assisting the family.
