Joyce Arthea (Yttrie) Dolan

Joyce Arthea Dolan, 81, of Westby and formerly of Viroqua and Rising Sun area, died on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

Joyce was born February 26, 1942, the youngest of 6 daughters of Freda (Inman) and Arthur Yttrie.  On October 7, 1961, she and Thomas E. Dolan were united in marriage at St. James Catholic Church in Rising Sun.  They were blessed with 62 years of marriage.  Joyce enjoyed time with her family and friends, especially her 4 girls, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who were her world and kept her fighting.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Thomas Eugene Dolan, and her four girls: 

Lisa (Jerry) Frank of Westby, granddaughter Tara (Jamie Prestwood) and great granddaughters, Rylee and Raygan Prestwood of Black River Falls, and grandson Tyler (Dana Phillips) Marx of DeSoto;

Lora (Daniel) Aspenson of Viroqua;

Nettie (Mark) Beyer of DeForest; granddaughter Haley Beyer of Madison and grandson Luke Beyer of Verona.

Lezlie Barry of Maynard IA; along with granddaughters Jamie (Jordan Euans) Barry and great grandson Jaxon Euans from Maynard IA, and Anna (Luke) Smith of Independence, IA.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Freda Yttrie; and sisters:  Elaine (Armour) McCauley, Vada (Merlin) Kumlin, Naomi (Harlan) Seymour, Verna (Clarence) Storer, and Charlottte (Gordon) Strand. 

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 400 Congress Ave, Viroqua, WI.  A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service.  Burial will take place at the Rising Sun Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Mayo Clinic or charity of your choice.
