Judith Crapser Obituary

Judith Carol Crapser (née McIntosh), lovingly known as Judy, age 80, of Viroqua, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, in Viroqua.

Judy was born on June 3, 1945, in Boscobel, Wisconsin, to Eleanora and Milo McIntosh. She grew up with strong values of faith, family, and hard work that shaped the life she lived and the love she gave.

She was united in marriage to John Crapser, with whom she shared 60 wonderful years. They met through John’s sister, Mary Ellen Larson, while Judy and Mary Ellen were working together in Madison — a connection that began a lifelong partnership filled with devotion, laughter, and love.

Judy was a hardworking woman who never liked to sit still. She spent many years as a waitress at the Old Towne Inn from the time it opened until it closed, and later worked for many years at Select Sires/Accelerated Genetics. Even in retirement — which she took at the age of 78 — she stayed active, always finding something to do, care for, or improve.

She was a faithful member of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Viroqua, where her quiet faith guided her daily life.

Judy loved her family above all else. She also loved caring for her plants, baking — especially her famous sugar cookies — doing puzzles, and coloring by numbers on her iPad. She enjoyed a good game of Euchre, where she was known as the best partner to have, always keeping a great poker face. In her last year, she especially enjoyed walking with the family dog, Koko, who kept her on her toes and brought her daily joy.

Judy will be remembered as kind, friendly, and thoughtful — the type of person who truly listened, remembered the little things about you, and followed up because she genuinely cared. Her favorite saying, “I’m just saying,” often came with a gentle smile and a loving truth behind it.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Crapser; her children, Dawn Crapser, Tim Crapser (Mikki), and Jodi Priebe (John); her grandchildren, Keegan Wedwick, Michael Crapser, Taylor Crapser, Alexis Engel (Sam), Hunter Priebe, Brandon Wedwick (Kim Barnes), Allyson Priebe, and Jordan Eilertson; her great-grandchildren, Holden, Odin, Oliver, and Landon; and her siblings, Tom McIntosh (Regina), Rodney McIntosh (Laura), Cindy Hying (Bernie), and her sister-in-law, Deb McIntosh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eleanora and Milo McIntosh; her brother, Gary McIntosh; her parents-in-law, Walter and Dorothy Crapser; and her brothers-in-law, Wayne Crapser and Leroy Crapser.

A public visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Viroqua, Wisconsin, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. A private family luncheon will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church or to a local charity in Judy’s name.

Judy’s legacy is one of quiet strength, steady kindness, and deep love for her family. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
