Katherine Ann (Soltau) Skrede

Katherine Ann (Soltau) Skrede, 74, of Viroqua WI, passed away peacefully at her home on March 15, 2021.

Kathy was born December 25th, 1946 in Sparta WI, the daughter of Lyle and Katherine (Ikert) Soltau.  She fell in love with the love of her life, Arvid Skrede, they married June 1st, 1963.

Kathy worked at many different jobs throughout her life.  She gardened, cooked, and loved to go to garage sales, always hunting for that must have.  Above all, she had a special place in her heart to rescue animals.  She had many Fur Kids in her lifetime.  To many she was called Kat.  She loved her cats.  Another great joy she had was watching hummingbirds, she could sit for hours and watch them come and go.  She loved her grand kids, and recently great-grandchild.  They brought her great joy. 

She is survived by her husband, Arvid and children:  Craig (Brenda) of Edmonds WA, Tracy (Kevin) Bateman of Clearfield UT, Arvid Jr (Stephanie) of Kaukauna WI;  brothers, Jim and Mike (Nora) Soltau;  sister, Janet Greeno; sister-in-law, Shirley Soltau; grandchildren:  Nicole Skrede Hartzog (Ian), Alexis, Alizabeth, Spencer, Sophia; and great-grandchild, Eleanor Marie.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers:  Bernard, Vernon, and Noel Soltau; sisters-in-law:  Janice, Jean, and Dorthey Soltau; and brother-in-law, Bud Blegan.
