Kenneth S. Hanson

Kenneth S. Hanson, 83, passed away on Sunday April 4th, 2021 in Viroqua, WI.   He was born July 20th, 1937 to Henry and Myra (Berg) Hanson.  Ken attended Plainview country school through 8th grade then graduated from Viroqua High School in 1955. He married Diane Radde in 1961, they eventually divorced.  He later married Jo Stackhouse in 1985.

Ken moved to Janesville to work at General Motors. He joined the Marines for 2 years in 1957. When he returned home, he then joined the National Guard for 2 years.  Ken joined Quigley Smart Plumbing as an apprentice and later started his own plumbing business as Hanson Plumbing which he worked until 75 years of age. Ken was a volunteer fireman with the town off Beloit for many years. He also was a longtime member of the Star Zenith Boat Club. Ken enjoyed playing cards, golf, coin collecting, traveling, hunting, and fishing.     

Ken is survived by his daughter, Zoe (Mark) Cujak; stepsons: Dan, Bob, Mike, and Joe Stackhouse; and stepdaughter, Barb (Joe) Spencer;8 grandchildren;5 great grandchildren; brother, Howard (Ethel) Hanson; Sisters, Mary Haas and Sue (David) Humfeld.  

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo; sister, Sara McKittrick; and brother, David Hanson. 

Services will be held on Saturday, April 10th, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Roth Family Cremation Center.  A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until time of the service.  Military Rites will be provided by Running-Johnson-Ray V.F.W. Post 3032, Jacobson-Olson American Legion Post 138 and the Marine Honor Guard.

The family would like to thank Dr. Woody, St. Croix Hospice, and Creamery Creek Assisted Living for their care for Ken during his final days.  The Roth Family Cremation Center is serving the family.
