Larry K. Getter

Larry Kenneth Getter, 66, passed away peacefully at his home in Viroqua on Friday, January 12, 2024.

Larry was born on September 22, 1957, to Kenneth and Margery (Marks) Getter.  He married Peggy Stellner and they later divorced.  On September 23, 2001, Larry married Kym Olson at the Crawford County Courthouse.

Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons, Jaxson and Maximus and his son, Rian.  He loved going down to the home farm on Sundays, visiting his brother Michael.  Larry also loved hunting and enjoyed going to truck and tractor pulls.  He was a member of the Kickapoo Valley Four-Wheeler Club and won numerous awards for dart league.  Larry was employed as a dump truck driver most of his life until retirement. 

He is survived by his wife Kym; son Rian; mother Margery; brother Michael; sister Iva; two very special grandsons, Jaxson and Maximus; multiple cousins, nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law; and very special neighbors: Mike and Melissa Skildum and Leland Diehl.    

He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth; brother Dwain; mother-in-law Janet Halverson; and father-in-law Gary Halverson.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Vernon County Sheriff’s Department, Wheatland 1st Responders, 911 Dispatch, Tri-State Ambulance, and Mike and Melissa Skildum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Kym Getter and family.

A private family service will be held in January with a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Retreat Sportsman's Club from 1-4 p.m.
