Loren H. Primmer, 84, of Holmen and formerly of Viroqua, died Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at his home. He was born Dec. 14, 1938, to Guy and Merle E. (Fish) Primmer in Viroqua. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church. He grew up on a farm outside of Viroqua. He was a member of the Viroqua High School Graduating Class of 1956. After high school he joined the U.S. Army. (1956 - 1961) Loren met the love of his life Jenese Emmert. They were united in marriage on May 16, 1959, at the Mount Calvary Church in Janesville. While living in Janesville he worked on a farm than was hired on to American Motors. He was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed his time working with a racing team in Union Grove. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union #250 for 50 years. Loren liked to work with his hands and was a master carpenter. He built his home in Somers. Later building multiple homes, cabinets, rocking chairs, and various toys for the grandkids. He enjoyed fixing up his Ford Tractor. He was a devoted husband and a loving father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jenese of Holmen; 4 children: Debbie (Waldo) Gonzalez of Holmen, Laurie (Mark) Johnson of Holmen, Dolores (Bill) Vollmer of Texas, and Mike (Pam) Primmer of Kenosha; 12 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; sister Norma Joan of Romeoville, IL; 2 brothers, Donald (Lillian) Primmer of Viroqua and Adrian (Linda) Primmer of Kenosha; sister-in-law Janice Primmer of Viroqua; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Merle Primmer; brother and sister-in-law, Leon "Bud" and Cleo Primmer; brother Orvis Primmer; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jean and Paul Zube; brother-in-law Thomas Hirsch; nephew Leon Primmer; and grandson Jason Loren McCoy.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday June 7, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at the Roth Family Cremation Center. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
