Loretta M. Rood

Loretta Mae Rood, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at her home in rural Viroqua, WI.

She was born on January 8, 1937, to Harold and Clarice Tollackson. She married Charles Fredrick Rood on February 12, 1955, at Bethel Lutheran Church in rural Viroqua, WI.

Loretta loved to travel with her husband Charles and enjoyed camping all over the country, but especially the western United States. Additionally, she traveled to Europe and Brazil. Loretta enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved playing card games. She was active in Homemakers, the Ladies Aid, and in the Sewing Club for over 50 years. Her work history included 30 years at the Dahl Pharmacy in Viroqua as a clerk.

She is survived by her three sons: Brian (Denise) Rood, Scott (Cathy) Rood, and Todd (Catherine Wallace) Rood; a daughter Rhonda (Terry Trueblood) Rood; grandchildren: Matthew, Joshua, Chelsea, Gwen, Charlie, Dustin, Austin, Griffin, and Tessa; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers: Alan, Richard, and Robert Tollackson; sister Victoria Yttri; brother-in-law Dale Rood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles; brothers, Isaac and Harold Tollackson Jr, and grandson Eric Rood.

Per Loretta’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
