Myrtle Melvin Obituary
Myrtle Ann Melvin, 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in Wonewoc. She was born June 19, 1936, to Clyde and Annie (Blaha) Winchel.
Myrtle worked for Bethel Home and enjoyed her doll collection. She cherished time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and was excited to be a great-great-grandma. She enjoyed her nieces and nephews as well. She was the most kind and loving person to everyone.
Her survivors include four children: Brian Poff of Elroy, Scott (Sue) Poff of Ontario, Sue Diny of Wonewoc, Paul (Virgie) Brey of Ontario; five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren; brother Frank Winchel of Elroy; and special friend Bonnie Risen of La Farge.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ben; parents, Clyde and Annie Winchel; sisters: Marlene Baldwin, Mildred Olsen, Margaret Eckleberg, Mary Parkhurst, Marcella Calhoon, Marlyce Revels, adopted sister Connie Brueggeman; brothers Ron, Dick, and Harold Winchel.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Grace Community Church in Ontario with Pastor Bruce Milleman officiating. A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM until time of service. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Rest Cemetery.
Roth Family Cremation Center and Funeral Services is assisting the family.
