Nancy A. Swanson

Nancy Swanson, 63, of Whitehall and formerly of Viroqua passed away at Gundersen Health System early Monday morning with family by her side.

She was born September 15, 1959, to Wayne and Dolores Swanson in Viroqua where she attended school.  After graduation she went to WWTC in La Crosse and became a medical assistant.  She worked in the field at Gundersen in pediatrics and Eau Claire in the cancer center.  She was in the field for 43 years and loved every minute.

Nancy loved to bake, the beach, flowers, and birds. 

Nancy is survived by her significant other, Les Sluga; mother, Dolores; sister Lori Parker of Texas; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews; one grandson and two granddaughters.  

Nancy is preceded in death by grandparents, George and Myra Swanson, Carl and Zelma Schlief; father, Wayne; sister Lynn; plus several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

We would like to thank the staff at UW-Madison and Gundersen for all their compassion and care.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Roth Family Cremation Center and Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m.  with Pastor Lisa Shank officiating.  A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
