Nathaniel Dale Olson, 39, died Saturday, March 25, 2023, at his residence in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Nate was born February 19, 1984, in Boscobel, Wisconsin.
Nate was adopted by Larry and Jayne (Kirschner) Olson at the age of 8, along with his biological sister. We had many good times as a family. He enjoyed 4-H softball games, especially pitching to the opponent’s team, playing hockey, and driving our John Deere 5-wheeler; but his favorite things to do was to ride his skateboard. He had talked a friend into making him a skatepark for him and his friends to use. Nate referred to himself as “SK8N8TE.” When he was 15 years old, he was fortunate to get his first deer, of which he was very proud. Family vacations were fun, especially Disneyland in California, visiting family in Florida, and going to Washington DC. After he left home, he struggled with drug addiction for many years. Through his struggles, his love for his girls was always there.
Nate was a tattoo artist and enjoyed fishing. He had several different jobs at various times. He loved to meet new people and to be around others. He loved his family with all of his heart, but his two daughters were the most important people in his life.
Nate attended high school in Viroqua, Wisconsin. Eventually he received his GED from Western Wisconsin Technical College.
Besides his parents, Nate is survived by his two beloved daughters, Alyia and Malorie Olson; two stepchildren, Caleb and Memory; his brother Eric (Paula) Olson; sisters: Sarah (Nicholas) Godwin, Katrina (Erin) King, and a half sister Bettyna Reinhardt; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Elgia Olson and Anthony and Marian Kirschner.
Roth Family Cremation Center and Funeral Services is assisting the family. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Viroqua Cemetery.
