Opal Ott

Opal J. Ott, 87, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Vernon Memorial Hospital.  She was born on July 16, 1935, to Orville and Grace Poole.  She married Neil E. Ott on June 19, 1954, at Union, Indiana.

Opal enjoyed spending time with family and friends, keeping a nice home, working with plants, flowers, and baking.  She loved taking rides around the countryside, working outside the home, and meeting different people.  As time passed, she really missed going dancing, working at Soda Jo’s Diner, Discount Dollar Store, and Mr. G.’s.

She is survived by her sons:  Tim (Laurie), Alan (Carol), and Brian; daughter, Jacqueline (Mark) Hafner; brother, Mike (Karen) Rengert; Sisters, Carolynn (Kent) Herrick and Mary Ann (Jim) Elwood; brother-in-law, John D Bland; many special grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a very special man, David Spaid.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil; parents; in-laws; sisters, Gerry Rausch and Janet Bland; sons, Douglas and Neil II; nieces, baby Roxann and Pamela; nephews, Robin and Jimmy. 

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Viroqua High School Arts Department, and the Viroqua Police Department K-9 Unit. 

A private family service will be held.   

The Roth Family Cremation Center is assisting the family.
