Orvis Leon Weber, 93 passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Norseland Nursing Home in Westby WI, with family by his side.
Orvis was born August 14, 1931, to Sylvan and Irene (Lierance) Weber in Vernon County Wisconsin.
On October 26, 1954, he married Faye Nelson in Galena, IL. They were blessed with 67 years of marriage.
Orvis joined the Marine Corps on Jan 30, 1952. He served in Japan during the Korean War and was honorably discharged from active duty on Jan 15, 1954. He earned the following medals: National Defense Service Medal, Korean War Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
Orvis enjoyed spending time visiting with his family and friends. His other interests included prepping his classic 1964 Rambler for parades, camping, especially at Goose Island County Park, talking about co-op tractors and going to polka dances. He was an avid reader of old car and tractor magazines.
Orvis is survived by daughters, Bonnie Hemmersbach and Barb Ripley; son Ken (Svetlana Amaker) Weber; brother Jim Weber; sisters Shirley Gallagher and Ramona Abbey; grandchildren: Justin (Melissa) Bolstad, Jenna (Shane) McNamara, Breanna (Jed) Lathrop, and Justin Amaker; great-grandchildren: Cadi Johnson, Harlow Bolstad, Claire McNamara, Hyatt Bolstad, and Paxley Lathrop.
Orvis was preceded in death by his loving wife Faye, sister Mae O'Connor, parents Sylvan and Irene Weber, and sons-in-law Tony Hemmersbach and Larry Ripley.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Redemption Chapel located on Highway 14 between Viroqua and Westby with Pastor George Shick officiating. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service.
Family is requesting no memorials.
