Paul Bradley Larson, age 80, of Sun Prairie, WI, formerly of Viroqua, WI peacefully left this world on December 28, 2025.
Paul was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and grew up in Richfield, Minnesota. As a boy, he was active in Cub Scouts & Boy Scouts and spent many cherished summers with family and friends on Crane Island on Lake Minnetonka.
Paul graduated from Richfield High School in 1963 where he was on the Varsity Wrestling team. He went on to attend the University of Minnesota. Paul become a flight Instructor with St. Cloud Aviation. He was later hired in 1966 by North Central Airlines, where he began a career as a commercial pilot. Paul achieved the rank of Captain with Republic Airlines and later Northwest Airlines. Over the course of his career, he flew DC-9s, Boeing 757s, and Boeing 747s.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Bradley and Mary (York) Larson; his wife, Mary (Flaherty) Larson; his stepson, Donald Johnson Jr., his step-granddaughter, Forrest; and former wife Cheryl Larson (mother of his daughters Christine and Holly).
He is survived by his children, Christine Larson (her partner Richie Hobin), Holly (Al) Frank, William Pharis, Sean (Zoey) Larson; and stepdaughter Christina Arritt-Berry. He is also survived by his brother Glenn (Lynn) Larson; his grandchildren, Ayla Larson, Tasha Larson-Lohmiller, Luke Noble and Lydia Noble; his great grandchildren Shailee Elliott, Thom Ospina and Wolfgang Ospina; his niece Lisa Larson; his step-grandchildren, Christopher Arritt, Freeman Berry; his sisters-in-law Sarah St . Sure and Tanna Hoagland.
Paul had a love for his pet dogs, a keen eye for photography, enjoyed water skiing and snow skiing and a genuine passion for life. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, adventurous spirit, and the many lives he touched both on the ground and in the skies.
Paul was a longtime member of Eckankar and a key contributor to the development of the Eckankar Center of Wisconsin in Madison. Since 2016, he facilitated spiritual talks and served the Center in many dedicated roles.
Family will be holding a Celebration of Life Service Saturday, February 7, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eckankar Center of Wisconsin, located at 6501 Watts Road, Suite 150, Madison, WI 53719.
