Phil Joseph Allen

Phil Joseph Allen was born November 5, 1950 in La Crosse, WI to Glen and Effie (Erickson) Allen.  He passed away July 16, 2025, at 4:12 a.m.  Phil was a kind and generous man always ready to help people out.  Children loved him, he was Uncle Phil to many children related and unrelated.

He attended elementary school at Salem Ridge, WI and went to high school in La Farge.  He wrestled and played football.  He grew up working with his family on the farm on Otter Creek.  After graduation Phil worked at Westby Hardwoods and Oscar Meyer in Madison, WI.  Then he returned to the family farm where he lived and worked.  He sold the cows in 1995.  At that time he started AW Septic, which continues today with Eric at the helm.  He and Eric worked as partners on the farm and in the family business.  Phil was very close with his nieces and nephews, especially Eli, Jocey, and Nick Duell.  Phil acted as a father figure for Nick when he was growing up.

Phil is survived by sisters: Diane Tydrich, Joan Allen-Erickson, and Lesa (Carl) Haugrud; brother Eric (Stacy) Allen; sister-in-law Rita Allen; nieces and nephews:  Kristen, Staci, Maria, Kevin, Sharon, Terri, Dean, Allison, Nicholas, Jesse, Chase, Holly, Mary, Eli, Jocey, Maverick; and many great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Effie (Erickson) Allen; brother Gene Allen; and brother-in-law Edward Tydrich. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church (S3297 Salem Ridge Rd, La Farge, WI) with Pastor Kimberly Brumm officiating.  A visitation will be held Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the church and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
