Randy Floyd Lawrence, age 73, of Viroqua, WI passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 2, 1952, in Clinton, WI to Peggy (Perkins) and Floyd Lawrence. Some of his fondest memories were growing up on the farm. He attended Clinton High School where he graduated in 1970.
On June 4, 1982, he married the love of his life Verna. Randy brought with a wonderful daughter into the family from a previous marriage. They were also blessed with two more children, a son, and a daughter.
He worked for Webster Industries as a lead millwright until 1986 when he suffered a debilitating back injury. One of his proudest accomplishments was in 2010 when he graduated Summa cum laude alongside his wife in the Electromechanical Technology program at Southwest Technical College in Fennimore, WI.
Randy had many passions. He especially loved music and was a master at playing the guitar and the two-level organ with pipe pedals. Everyone would gather around to watch him play polka pieces. He was a genius at his craft, and it always brought the family together. Randy especially loved listening to his granddaughters play the violin and the piano and watching their talent blossom. Randy lived for his family, especially his grandchildren and was and will forever be known to them as Grandpa Snuggles. Randy also enjoyed traveling. Whether it was on the motorcycle or in the van with the family camping “out west” or driving around by the old family farm.
Randy is survived by his wife Verna (Hanson); his three children, Jessica (Chad) Bjornstad of Wisconsin Rapids, WI Benjamin (Brittney) Lawrence of West Salem, WI and Laurisa (Tony) Stussy of Soldiers Grove, WI; ten grandchildren, McKenzzie, Stella, Mersadi, Hayden, Kendrick, Emberley, Sophia, Hayley, Henery, and Ryley; sisters Cheryl (Mike) Enright of Janesville, WI and Laura (Jim) Morrison of Poplar Grove, IL. He is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Floyd W. Lawrence in 2004, his mother Peggy M. Lawrence in 2021 and his sister Shelia R. Salisbury in 2015.
