Richard "Dick" Meloy, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 30, 2024, at his home in Viroqua, WI. He was born on November 6, 1938, to Ted and Ruth Meloy.
Dick grew up in Madison, WI, and after serving in the Navy, graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He worked in banking for his entire career. Following his retirement, he traveled extensively, visiting all seven continents. Besides traveling, Dick loved golfing with his friends, spending time with family, Wisconsin Badger football, and anything to do with the outdoors. He purchased land and built a cabin outside Viroqua in 1995. The cabin became his happy place, where he would host friends for hunting in the fall, gather the whole family for weekends, hike for miles throughout his property, and sit on the porch swing in the evenings with a cocktail. His motto was “Life is good…enjoy it!”
He is survived by daughter Jennifer (Will) Emory, daughter Kathleen (Ivo) Knezevic, son Daniel Meloy, grandchildren Chelsea (Joe) Burger, Meghan Emory, Mitchell Emory, Alex Knezevic and Charlie Knezevic. He is further survived by his friend and companion, Pam Inman, his brother Steve Meloy and his sister Cina (Phil) Kalscheur.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Janet Gill Meloy, and his brother, John Meloy.
