Rodney James Krause, passed away peacefully at home on April 13, 2026, in Cashton, Wisconsin.
He was born on March 9, 1964. Rodney married Amy Krause (Felten) on September 3, 1993, in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Music was at the heart of who he was. He played guitar and drums, wrote music, and loved listening to old rock-there was almost always a song somewhere in the background of his life. He enjoyed working on vehicles and had a knack for jimmy-rigging just about anything, turning the ordinary into something functional with his own creative touch.
Rodney was hilarious and incredibly intelligent. He seemed to have an answer for everything-most of which came with a smart, sassy remark that those who knew him will never forget. He was a hard worker in every sense-dedicated to his job, always busy around the house, and quick to help anyone who needed it. He deeply valued time with his family and adored his dogs, who were never far from his side. In his later years, he developed a deep love for the Lord Jesus Christ and spent time learning and growing in his faith.
He is survived by his wife, Amy; his step-father, James ("Skip") VanderHeyden; his siblings, Kim (Steve) Jansen, Randy Krause, Richard Krause, and Russell Krause; his children, Jessica Dorner (Tom), Cayden Krause, and Kasaya Krause; his grandchildren, Calvin and Bennett Dorner; his niece, Daniella Krause and nephews, Travis (Samantha) Jansen, TyIer (Jamie) Jansen, Lucas Krause, Broden Krause, Channer Krause, and Cody Coutley. He is also survived by Tammy Austin, mother to his eldest daughter and grandmother to his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Krause, and his mother, Nancy VanderHeyden,
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to those who prayed over them during his time in the ICU and while receiving home hospice care.
A private family celebration of life will be planned at a later date, with more details to come.
