Ronald Felten Obituary

Ronald L. Felten, 84, walked into the arms of his Lord and Savior Monday, April 12, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family.

Ron was born in Schofield, WI on June 10th, 1936 to Carly and Frieda (Heuss) Felten.  Ron trusted Jesus as his Savior at a young age.  Ron went to school in Wausau and was in the first graduation class of D.C. Everest HS, May 1954.  Ron was born with a crippled right arm, which didn’t stop him in participating in sports.  Many were impressed with his ability to swing a golf club and hit a homer.  He attended UW Madison and graduated with a major in accounting in June of 1958.

Ron met Carol Ann at a Bible conference in Toronto.  It was love at first sight and they were married 6 months later.  They spent their honeymoon volunteering at Riverside Bible Camp.  Ron and Carol lived in Wausau where they started their family and Ron was employed by Wipfli.  Ron had a heart for serving the Lord and for the first 15 years they took summers off to work at Bible Camps around the Midwest.  In early 1970, Ron and 7 other men, gathered together to start planning the layout of a Bible Camp we now call Living Waters.  Ron felt a tug from God to move his family to the Cashton area in 1972 where he became the first administrator of LWBC.  While his girls attended Cashton schools, he and Carol held a Friday night good news hour for younger kids and a girls and boys club for teens where they were introduced to the gospel and love of Jesus.  Ron and Carol made it possible for children to earn a week at Living Waters by attending the weekly group and memorizing Bible verses.

Ron and Carol were blessed with 5 biological daughters and went on to adopt 18 children over the years.  With the influx of children, Ron resigned his position of 25 years at Wipfli and started his own CPA firm in Cashton in 1989.  Ron loved his work as a CPA and practiced through 2019.  Ron and Carol have continued to make their farm available to LWBC for summer campers since the mid-1970s.  The children ride horses, play with animals, eat a picnic supper, and hear a gospel message.  Ron enjoyed having many children and grandchildren living in the area and visiting often.  His love, spiritual guidance, and grandpa jokes will be missed.

Ron is survived by his wife, Carol Ann (Gray) Felten, and his children and grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Living Waters Bible Camp on Friday April 16th from 4-8 p.m.
