Ronald "Ron" Luebke Jr., aged 56, a cherished son, brother, father, grandfather and remarkably talented scrimshaw and bulino artist, peacefully passed away in Viroqua on February 21, 2024. Ron was born August 9, 1967 in Beloit, Wisconsin to Ronald and Joyce (Osmond) Luebke. He graduated from Parkview High School in Orfordville, Wisconsin in 1986. Ron lived in Daytona Beach Florida before returning to Wisconsin, marrying Penny Hitchcock and starting a family with two daughters, Kacie (Dave Persson) and Taylar (Joey Sanwald).

Ron was a man of many talents. His journey through life was marked by an unwavering dedication to his craft, a deep love for his family, the outdoors and an enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge, skills and stories with others. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, camping, kayaking or spending time with his Papillon dog, Lil. For ten years he lived in the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona, discovering the southwest. And planned a return trip to London, England to explore further with his sister.

Professionally, Ron was known for his exceptional talent and 15 years in the art of scrimshaw, a craft he not only excelled in but also worked to preserve and promote. His contributions to forums like Engravers Café and Blade magazine where he shared tips and tricks with both novices and experts, showcased his commitment to the art community and his desire to support other artists in their journeys. Ron's work, characterized by intricate details and beauty, earned him respect and admiration from peers and enthusiasts alike. Ron was most recently employed as a driver with Running Inc. in Viroqua, Wisconsin. Prior to, Ron was a UAW Dist. Rep & ARO seat tech at Lear Corporation in Janesville, Wisconsin for 9 years.

As we mourn the loss of Ron Luebke Jr., we also celebrate his life and the indelible mark he left. His legacy will live on through his art, his family, and the lives he touched with his humor, candour and spirit. Ron was a true artist, not just in his creations, but in the way he lived his life - with passion and quiet connections. He will be deeply missed, but his light will continue to shine in the memories he leaves behind and the art that will forever bear his name.

Ron is survived by his mother Joyce, his children Kacie (Dave Persson) and Taylar (Joey Sanwald, Lexi), sister Susan (Brett Johnston), aunt and uncles Liane and Michael Piranio, Gary and Sue Osmond, Joanne Osmond; many dear cousins: Joseph Piranio, Antonina (Gene Kamholz), Peter (Annette) Piranio, Michael (Stephanie) Piranio, Chomedy Osmond, Glen (Sylwia) Osmond, Tasha (Mike Kelley), John (Laurel) Osmond, Geny (Matt Baker), Lucas (Ashley) Osmond and Sara (Ryan Niebuhr); as well as extended family and friends.

Ron is preceded in death by his granddaughter Olivia (daughter of Taylar and Shane Taylor); father Ronald Luebke; grandparents Glen "Bud" and "Millie" Osmond, Russell and Irene Luebke; uncle Glen "Bud" Osmond Jr. and cousin, Becky Osmond.

A celebration of life to be held in the Spring, May 26, 2024, 1pm at Tug’s Kitchen at Showboat Saloon, 24 Broadway Ave, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965.
