Ruth Monaghan Obituary
Ruth A Monaghan, age 83, passed away peacefully on the 14th of September, 2024 at Vernon Manor in Viroqua, WI.
She was born on November 16, 1940, to Albert Bina and Helen Maroushek. She married Joseph Monaghan on July 1, 1961, in Chicago, IL.
Ruth Monaghan was a Iowa state champion in vocal music in 1958 and enjoyed singing throughout her life in choirs and Sweet Adelines. She also enjoyed painting and belonging to art organizations like the Des Plaines Art League. In Chicago, she presented her paintings in a one woman show at the Sears Tower. Later she used this talent shaping future artists in 4H. 4H members also remember her support in dog obedience, showing horses, goats and rabbits.
She is survived by a daughter, Helen Monaghan Pacheco and two granddaughters, Joseé Elena Pacheco Huynh and Isabel Marie Pacheco.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Monaghan, both parents and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Sunset Senior Sanctuary for Elder Dogs in La Farge, WI.
Private services were at the house on Sunday, September 22,2024.
Roth Family Cremation Center and Funeral Services is assisting the family.
