Steven Hendrickson, lovingly known by many as Hollywood, Henry, or The Viking, passed away on August 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Born on January 27, 1960, Steve was a proud Westby native, Steve graduated from Westby High School and was confirmed at English Lutheran Church. He later pursued his interest in auto body repair at Western Technical College.
Throughout his life, Steve was a dedicated and hardworking man. He spent several years working at the Westby Creamery and, for the past two decades, made a lasting impact on the lives of countless young people through his work at the Challenge Academy at Fort McCoy.
Steve was preceded in death by his father Frederick Hendrickson; his mother Arlene Ramona “Mona” Baumbach Wing; his stepfather Lyle Wing; his beloved brother and best friend Dennis Hendrickson; and his sister Ida Marx.
He is survived by his lifelong partner, Jeanne Hatfield, and their two cherished four-legged companions, Rex and Oscar. Steve had a deep love for the outdoors—he was a passionate and patient hunter and fisherman. He found joy in tending to his yard, proudly maintaining a beautiful lawn and garden, with special care for his prized tomato plants. He enjoyed a good round of golf, had a sharp sense of humor, and always appreciated a good laugh and a cold beer with loved ones.
Steve will be remembered for his kind spirit, his quiet strength, and the many ways he made life better for those around him.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, August 11, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at The Market (724 Front St. Cashton, WI) for family and friends to gather, share stories, and honor Steve's memory in the way he would have wanted—surrounded by laughter, love, and good company.
