Steven D. Skrede

Steven Duane Skrede, age 75, of Viroqua went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 25th, 2021, at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI.

Steven Skrede was born in Viroqua, WI to Stanley and Iona Skrede on November 14, 1946.  Steven married Lana (Lewison) on September 22, 1973, in Viroqua, WI.

Steven grew up dairy farming on the family farm on Nottingham Ridge.  After graduating high school, he worked at the GM factory in Janesville until joining the National Guard at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.  After the Guards he farmed on the family farm with his dad until 1986 when he started working for Coulee Cap in Westby, WI, where he retired after 30 years in 2016.  He enjoyed riding motorcycle, his horse Nevada, fishing, watching sports and shooting his guns.  His greatest joy was his grandkids.

Steven Skrede is survived by his wife, Lana; two sons, Jon (Sarah) Skrede and Chris (Emily) Skrede; one daughter, Jenny (Adam) Emerson; sister, Alice Fauske; ten grandchildren:  Dalton, Dylan, and Bailey Skrede; Taylor Gilardi, Sterling, Madisen, Landon Skrede; Peyton, Rylee, and baby Emerson coming in May.

Steven is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Iona (Christensen) Skrede; brother, Allen Skrede; and brother-in-law, Myron “Mike” Fauske.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Believers Fellowship Church, 804 S. Main St., Viroqua, WI.  Pastor Craig Skrede will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
