Thom would like to let you know that as of November 5, 2024, his work here is done. He received a call, a sort of offer you can’t refuse, for an appointed position from which he will not be returning. This appointed position included a huge sign on bonus - a reunion with his dad and brother, neither of whom he has seen in a long time. Job security is 110%.
His new mission takes him to a place where the entrepreneur that he was, will have the ultimate “behind the scenes” view. He will no longer have to concern himself with being prepared for any scenario that may arise and can finally just be. He will have endless opportunities for his desire to continuously learn. His extraordinary attention to quality and details are two of the many virtues he possessed that will be in highest regard. His immense abilities to see the vision, to be the motivator, to be the visionary and to be creative will equally be in high regard. There will be unlimited opportunities for him to listen to all sorts of music, laugh, paint (Bob Ross style), enjoy a variety of the tastiest food and drink, to do all of the things he loved to do and consistently excelled at; engineer, design, fabricate, customize cars, lead, team build, mentor, competitively manage race cars and their teams, enhance the life experiences of others, consistently exceed expectations.
He left his wife and daughter to celebrate his mission here, which has now been completed. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated. We wish him a safe journey. We will remember his love, his endless drive, his work ethic, his sincerity, his loyalty, his innumerable talents and skills and his dreams.
Born January 26, 1965 to Ronald and Mary Lou (Jurewicz) Rodgers in Elkhorn, WI, Thom was a lifelong resident of Walworth County and had recently, along with his wife, begun enjoying the Florida ocean, sunshine and hospitable people on an annual basis. On September 7, 1991, Thom married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Leann McLernon. He was the proud and loving father of their daughter, Amanda. The couple attended Brooklife Church, Mukwongao, WI and First Christian Church, Wauchula, FL. In addition to his wife Leann, and daughter Amanda, he is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Rodgers, Ft Atkinson, WI.
Thom was passionate about many music genres. His unchanging “go-to” favorite genre though, was classic rock, with Led Zeppelin and Rush being two of his all-time favorite groups. Consistently intrigued by the creativity and intelligence of drummer and lyrist Neil Pert of Rush, we share below one of Thom’s most referenced song lyrics:
“In your head is the answer/let it guide you along/let your heart be the anchor/and the beat of your song.” Pert, Neil – “Something for Nothing”, Rush 1976
