Timothy “Moose” Jacobson
October 17, 1954 — September 18, 2025
On September 18, 2025 our hearts became heavy as we lost a father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Born to Norman “Bud” and Myrtle (McDonald) Jacobson, Tim grew up on the Jacobson family farm, where he made his home throughout his life. A 1974 graduate of Viroqua High School, Tim was an athlete who wrestled and played football, carrying those lessons into the rest of his life.
Known to many as “Moose,” Tim lived life on his own terms. He farmed with his dad on the family farm and and made this his home for life. He spent time working at Howard Johnson’s and Vernon County Parks, and always found freedom on the open road as a biker. He had a small but close circle of friends he cherished, and he loved big — with loyalty, humor, and a steady presence. His hugs were like no other, offering warmth, safety, and love that words could never fully capture.
To those who called him, he was the familiar voice that answered with, “Hey, how’s it going?” and ended every conversation with, “Take it easy, love you.” That simple but heartfelt ritual is something his family and friends will miss deeply.
Tim is survived by his daughters, Anna Jacobson, Inga (Kayne) Cushman, and Lenae Jacobson; and his five grandchildren, Braelyn Jacobson, Grace Kroning, Larry Kroning, Gwen Cushman, and Diana Cushman. He is also survived by his sisters, Sherri Schrofer (Mike Spencer), Jane Jacobson (Keith Wilk), and Carrie (Karl) Baumgartner; nieces and nephews, Kristi (Matt) Evoy, Joshua (Makayla) Scrofer, Janie (Chase) Hornby, and Jake Baumgartner; as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and countless friends who held him dear.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Myrtle Jacobson, and by loved ones who surely greeted him with open arms.
Family and friends will gather to honor a man who lived life with strength, loyalty and love on October 18, 2025 at the VFW in Viroqua from 4-7pm. A time for sharing with be held at 5:30pm.
Though he is gone from our sight, Tim’s spirit rides on — in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, the memory of his hugs, and the love he left behind.
