Vern E. Hummel

Vern E. Hummel, 90, of Viroqua, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Bethel Oaks.  He was born June 28, 1931, to Clarence and Agusta (Allen) Hummel.  In January 1970 he married Sharon in Palatine, IL.

Vern’s first job was in 1945 at the age of 14, driving milk truck.  He grew up on a farm with a large family.  His brother, Bob and he started “Hummel Construction” in IL which is still active.  In 1971 he moved to Viroqua, WI and dairy farmed.  In the 1990’s he went back to work in IL doing construction until he retired.  He will be remembered for being a very hardworking, honest individual!!!  

Vern is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Tanya; grandson’s, Ethan and Jacob; brother, Bob; and sister, Linda.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
