At age 86, William Lee Vogel, of La Farge, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, in his home. Bill was raised in Lark, North Dakota, where he farmed for 35 years. In 1993, Bill and his wife, Joy, moved their family to Avalanche, Wisconsin, where he worked as a self-employed welder.
Bill was a kind and humble man of tremendous faith. Throughout his life, he sought to serve the Lord and to serve others. He and Joy were active members of the La Farge Free Methodist Church. In 2018, they founded a prison ministry at the Vernon County Detention Center in Viroqua, Wisconsin, where they led weekly Bible studies.
“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God and I trust him.” Psalms 91:1-2
He is survived by his wife, Joy Vogel; his children, Allen (Cindy) Vogel, Sherry (Allen) Neas, Janine (Neil) Wheeler, Billee (Samuel) Gondola, Karen (Jeff) Goede, Gordon Dehne, James Dehne, Christina Pfahl; his sister, Susan (Victor) Schaff; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Marion (Bell) Vogel; his wife, Irene (Schutz) Vogel; his son, Daryl Vogel; and stepson Kevin Dehne.
The Funeral Service for Bill will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the La Farge Free Methodist Church. Pastor Mark Phillips and Bonita Dorschied will officiate. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A meal will be served at the church following the Funeral Service. Thereafter, Bill will be laid to rest at Brush Hollow Cemetery.
